23 June 2010, Millbrook, UK – The OVIK Group launched CAMELEON MMS® (Modular Mission System®), based on an Iveco Daily 4X4 chassis, at DVD 2010. CAMELEON IV440 incorporates a radical re-design of the classic Dismountable Rack Offload and Pickup System (DROPS), creating a fully flexible, crew-operated, mission load changer system. The Daily 4X4, in its chassis-cab format, is a commercially-available, off-the-shelf item, which OVIK Solutions has ruggedised and militarised by adding a variety of extras, including a cab-mounted weapon and the crucial load changer hydraulic hook system.
A CAMELEON Patrol variant was displayed at DVD, along with an Ambulance Module, a Fuel Bowser Module and an Expanding Box Module. There are currently nine mission systems available, which include:
- Patrol Module (PTM)
- Troop Carrier Module (TCM)
- Ambulance Module (AMB)
- Casualty Evacuation Module (CAS)
- Fuel Bowser Module (FUL)
- Repair and Recovery Module (RRV)
- Command Module (COM)
- Logistics Module (LOG
- Expanding Box Module (EXP)
A further module, Mortar Module (MOR) is currently under design and there are plans to offer armoured variants in the future.
