A|D|S & UK Village FIA10 Press Pack

The Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) will be held from 19-25 July 2010 and is certain to be the most exciting to date. With its existing exhibition halls, flying displays and UAV pavilion, FIA 2010 will evolve its business theme to include a number of new networking initiatives such as a themed conference and seminar programme, a ‘Meet Your Buyer’ event and a day dedicated to International Futures for Youth. Additionally, FIA 2010 will feature a dedicated ‘Space Zone’ and enhanced UAV presence.

AgustaWestland to exhibit three new helicopters at FIA 2010
AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, will be exhibiting for the first time at Farnborough International Air Show (FIAS) three new helicopters – the GrandNew, AW159 and AW149. In addition to these new products AgustaWestland will also have on display six more helicopters.

ASTRAEA drives forward on next steps to open the airspace to Unmanned Aircraft Systems
Phase 2 of a series of research projects to support the ASTRAEA (Autonomous Systems Technology Related Airborne Evaluation & Assessment) programme has been launched with funding totalling £30m from a number of public bodies and defence and aerospace organisations. It is part of a six year programme that seeks to introduce unmanned aircraft systems into civil operations.

Barden’s UK plant certified as a diagnosis and repair facility for aerospace-approved bearings
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has approved The Barden Corporation’s manufacturing plant in Plymouth as an authorised diagnosis and repair facility for aerospace-approved bearings.
