Singapore Airshow 2008 - UK pavilion press packs

The UK aerospace industry will be out in force at Singapore Airshow 2008, Asia's premier aerospace and defence technology exhibition and airshow. The show has traditionally had a strong UK presence and this year will be no exception. SBAC is organising the UK Pavilion and a seminar mission to Singapore Airshow 2008. The UK Pavilion contains 20 companies promoting their skills and expertise to a global audience. A large number of UK based companies will be exhibiting within the other main halls and all will be receiving the active support of UK Government agencies UK Trade & Investment and the Defence Export Services Organisation (DESO).

The ongoing expansion of Pembrey Airport, a privately-owned, all-weather commercial facility in West Wales, took a leap forward in 2007 with the extension of its 805 meter runway by 50%. In combination with other developments, this improvement will attract larger aircraft and heavier landing loads in the years ahead.

Tritech has secured new business that will see its sophisticated castings used on Boeing's new long range 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Final approval has been granted to Tritech so that they can supply Sumitomo Precision Products with complex investment castings for the heat management system that will be used on the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines that power the Dreamliner.

The Airline Consulting Group UK, registered as ACG-UK Ltd in Wales, has secured a landmark agreement between the University of Glamorgan, in conjunction with the International Centre for Aerospace Training (ICAT) Wales, and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn of Malaysia (UTHM), a government owned establishment. The University of Glamorgan and ICAT have signed a lucrative deal which will allow them to sell their technical expertise in the field of training to UTHM, as well as being able to offer degree level programmes in aerospace engineering, that will is certified to produce aircraft engineers.
