UK space technology strategy

In 2004, the British National Space Centre and its partners in Government, industry and academia developed a technology strategy aimed at improving the effectiveness of UK investment and providing a platform for new, high-value business opportunities.

Technology themes that are critical to the strength of the UK space sector include:

  • integrated mission systems
  • low cost systems
  • information provision
  • widening user access
  • essential technologies
  • exploiting unique UK capabilities

Implementation of the strategy will be jointly funded by both UK industry and Government.

A copy of the UK Space Technology Strategy is available from the BNSC website.

The SBAC's space systems and services sector and UKspace are involved in representing priorities for funding space R&T to UK and European Government funding bodies, and in helping our members develop proposals and collaborative working relationships with R&T partners.
