BAG membership benefits

The objectives of BAG are:

  • raising the profile of the UK capability in the sector
  • disseminating market intelligence
  • organising seminars and networking events
  • identifying target markets and focusing on key potential projects
  • influencing strategic thinking within government to give greater support to the sector
  • organising trade missions and overseas exhibitions for member companies
  • hosting high level foreign visitors looking to source UK products, services and partnerships
  • securing financial assistance for UK companies to offset costs of exhibitions, trade missions and seminars abroad.
By becoming a member your company will benefit from the following core services:

Networking

BAG organises an annual programme of events to provide members with the opportunity to network, build new contacts, share project information and entertain business contacts.

Working groups represent the main interests of the sector.  They have been formed to represent the interests of the Equipment suppliers/manufacturing, Airport consultancy/professional services and Aviation Security sectors. These groups are led by nominated representatives with the task of developing specific sector strategies, identifying target markets and advising the BAG Board on issues affecting the sector.

Involvement with these groups is open to all members and the benefits of participation include the opportunity to have a voice in the future direction of BAG activities, to raise issues and to network other members.

Market Development

BAG is the sponsor for a wide range of Government trade missions each year to target markets that provide a wide range of opportunities either through ongoing airport development programmes or brand new projects. During the visit a programme of seminars, meetings and networking events will be organised that allow participants to meet with and promote their products and services to a wide range of contracts from Government Departments, Airport Authorities/Operators, Airlines, ATC providers and local companies involved in the sector (consultants, contractors and potential agents).

UK pavilions are also organised at relevant airport development sector focused exhibitions (e.g. Middle East Airport Build and Supply Exhibition in Dubai).

In addition BAG hosts a large number of foreign airport visitors and organises programmes of round-table meetings and one-to-one meetings between the visitor and members. Meetings provide the opportunity for members to learn about the airport development projects proposed in the specific country and to introduce their product/services to the visiting delegation without the need to visit a country.

Market Intelligence

BAG's key intelligence resource is the Airports Intelligence Centre. This provides members with regular sector reports, tender information/sales leads and project updates.

Speakers are also invited from relevant organisations to provide updates on the opportunities in the airport sector in specific markets or details on trading with a particular country.

BAG can put members in touch with a wide range of contacts, including at UK and foreign airports, civil aviation authorities, in industry and Government.

BAG carries out new market intelligence research on behalf of a member or groups of members.

Promotion

BAG members are promoted through the BAG members directory, which is also printed on an annual basis for distribution to all British embassies, worldwide airport contacts and during trade missions/exhibitions. Each member is entitled to a free entry, which includes contact details, products/services and a capability statement. The directory is categorised by product and/or service and cross-referenced with a full member contact listing.

BAG also takes stands at relevant airport exhibitions/conferences to promote the capability of members to an international audience. During such events members are also offered the opportunity to display promotional literature on the stand for a small fee.
