UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and SBAC organised a seminar which set out the opportunities that exist for UK aerospace companies in the US market. Delegates heard directly from Blake Kelly, Business Development Associate ? Aerospace, United Kingdom Trade & Investment, at the British Consulate-General in Los Angeles.

As a Business Development Associate, Mr. Kelly's role is two-fold. Firstly, he assists US companies in leveraging UK resources to meet their international growth plans. This includes facilitating UK/US business partnerships, providing location assistance, advising on labour and residency requirements, and identifying research alliances at UK universities.

Secondly, Mr. Kelly provides market assistance to UK-based corporations. In this arena, Mr. Kelly provides market analysis reports, participates in trade shows and other industry events, and builds relationships between key business leaders in the US and UK.

Mr. Kelly is a FAA Certified Flight Instructor and Commercial Pilot. Prior to joining UKTI, Mr. Kelly worked for a flight school in Santa Barbara, California providing flight instruction and commercial pilot services. Mr. Kelly still actively flies and instructs out Los Angeles, California. Mr. Kelly has a Bachelor of Science in Statistics degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
