SBAC is pleased to announce the first event in its new series: ?Seeking Opportunities for Scottish Companies'. This series will focus on how Scottish companies can use their innovation, research and development expertise to win real and profitable business opportunities with the 's major aerospace and defence companies. In this first event in the series we are delighted to have the support of BAE Systems, and also thank the ADS Programme for its support.

 

The MoD has challenged the sector with the direction in which it believes the 's industries will need to evolve and change in order to meet the challenges to our national security and remain a viable industry. The capability, capacity and will to innovate throughout the industrial base will be critical as will be the need to achieve more rapid maturation and application of technologies, and deployment of capabilities by our armed forces.

 

This event, from SBAC Scotland and BAE Systems with the support of the ADS Programme, aims to raise awareness of this need for change facing our industry in , both small SMEs and the traditional prime contractors, and crucially to accelerate the process of their working together.

 

Participants will receive an overview of the new MoD approach and the latest information on SME Engagement Workshops. BAE Systems will present its strategy, the ways in which it will be seeking to make its full contribution to the achievement of the MoD's objectives, and will explain how other Scottish companies can contribute and become engaged in their success.

 

Parallel sessions will address the technology, innovation, research and development approach and needs of BAE Systems Military Air Solutions, BAE Systems Integrated System Technologies, BAE Systems Advanced Technology Centre, BAE Systems Land Systems and BAE Systems Surface Fleet Solutions.
